Biography



Kathleen Flanagan
is a Halifax-based photographer. Her approach to photography is shaped by a background in adult learning. A long-time friend and former member of ViewPoint Gallery, Kathleen’s work is in the documentary tradition. An adult educator since 1981 and an academic administrator since 1999, she holds a bachelor’s degree in photography, a master’s degree in education, and a doctoral degree in adult education. She taught photography at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University for 15 years (1987-2002). Now located at the University of New Brunswick, she works for the Canadian Council on Learning, where she is responsible for developing pan-Canadian partnerships around adult learning.
